UNICEF and CESDRR Discussed Drones during Emergencies

On June 25, 2018 representatives of the Center discussed with UNICEF’s national consultant for unmanned aerial vehicles and innovations Bolat Duskinov possibility of using drones in emergencies.

Drones are widely used in many important areas of life. In the field of emergencies, they can be an additional tool for monitoring the situation in the avalanche and mudflow prone areas, monitoring the state of glacier lakes, etc.

According to the results of the working meeting of representatives, Center and UNICEF agreed to work together with the Committee of Emergency Situations Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan to consider the possibility of using drones in the field of emergencies. One of the possible areas of cooperation with UNICEF is the development of recommendations to amend the regulation of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles during emergencies.
