On May 2, 2019, a meeting with the representatives of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific was held at the Center. The subject of the meeting was the discussion of the joint work within the ESCAP’s project entitled “Effective use of space applications for drought monitoring and early warning in Central Asia”.
The project is dedicated to developing a standardized tool for modeling and monitoring of the drought-prone areas. As the outcomes of the meeting, the parties agreed upon tentative plans on the project implementation. The first event will be the expert meeting for the discussion of different drought models that will take place in July of this year in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyz Republic.
