UNICEF and IFRC Regional Training on Emergency Supply and Logistics

On November 12-13, 2019, at the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction the UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ECARO) and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Federation (IFRC), with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) held the Regional Training for emergency supply and logistics in the context of a major earthquake in Central Asia.

World experience after great earthquakes has shown that national emergency preparedness and the early stages of emergency response have a significant role in helping affected people. This training examines priority to support response systems to large-scale earthquakes, namely supply and logistics systems.

At the training, national employees of the Red Crescent Societies, UNICEF country offices, and government officials examined specific actions, roles and responsibilities for emergency supply and logistics to deal with the consequences of a major earthquake.
