A meeting of the Working Group (experts) of the Regional Forum-Meeting of the Heads of the Emergency Authorities of Central Asian countries was held

On October 4, 2023, in preparation for the Regional Forum - Meeting of the Heads of Emergency Authorities of Central Asian countries with the support of UNDRR, UNDP, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), a meeting of the Working Group (experts) of the Regional Forum - Meeting of the Heads of Emergency Authorities of Central Asian countries was held at the Center in Almaty.

Experts from the Central Asian countries discussed the agenda for the Regional Forum, proposed by the Center for the relevance of issues raised in it for the Central Asian region, reviewed and agreed on a number of draft documents proposed for discussion at the upcoming Regional Forum on November 10th of this year.

Draft documents proposed for discussion at the upcoming Regional Forum are aimed at implementing practical measures to develop and deepen regional cooperation in disaster risk reduction and strengthening emergency response preparedness, and also including modern approaches to disaster risk management using innovative technologies, support for the Regional Initiative to create a Central Asian early warning system and mutual information about threats and emergencies, enhancing the resilience of cities in the region and promoting innovative approaches to climate mitigation at the regional level.

Central Asian experts expressed their intention to intensify joint efforts in taking further regionally coordinated measures to enhance the level of regional cooperation among Central Asian countries in the vital interests of the region in ensuring sustainable development.
