A meeting of the Working Group (experts) of the Regional Forum-Meeting of the Heads of Emergency Authorities of Central Asian countries was held
On July 4, 2024 in Almaty, within the framework of preparation for the Regional Forum - Meeting of the Heads of Emergency Authorities of Central Asian Countries with the support of UNDRR, UNDP, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the meeting of the Working Group (experts) of the Regional Forum - Meeting of Heads of Emergency Agencies of Central Asia was held on the basis of the Center.
The experts of Central Asian countries discussed the program of the Regional Forum proposed by the Center for the relevance of the issues raised in it for the Central Asian region, considered and agreed on a number of projects, briefs and reports proposed for discussion at the upcoming Regional Forum on August 14-15, 2024, including Draft Action Plan (Roadmap) on implementation of the Strategy for Development of Cooperation of Central Asian Countries in Disaster Risk Reduction for 2025-2026 and Draft Protocol of the Regional Forum - Meeting of Heads of Emergency Authorities of Central Asian Countries.
The presented materials are aimed at implementation of practical measures to develop and deepen regional cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction, as well as provide for the introduction of modern approaches to disaster risk management using information and communication technologies, phased promotion of the Regional Initiative for the establishment of the Central Asian Early Warning and Mutual Information System on the threat and occurrence of emergencies, etc.
The experts of the Central Asian countries expressed their intention to intensify joint efforts in taking further regionally coordinated practical measures to create sustainable mechanisms of regional cooperation of the Central Asian countries, meeting the vital interests of the countries of the region in ensuring sustainable development.
The upcoming August Forum will be held under the theme - "From Awareness to Preparedness and Sustainability!"
