A seminar on increasing urban sustainability was held at the Center’s site
On November 2, 2023, the Japan Cooperation Agency (JICA), together with the Center, organized and conducted a seminar on disaster prevention in urban areas with the participation of Japanese experts in the field of disaster risk management at the local level and ensuring sustainable urban development.
The event was attended by representatives of the Akimat of Almaty, the Emergency Situations Department of Almaty, KazNIISA, the Institute of Seismology of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Satbayev University and I2NIK LLP.
During the seminar, Japanese experts shared with participants their best practices in the field of disaster risk reduction in the fields of electricity, construction, telecommunications, urban planning and urban planning.
The goals of the workshop are in line with the priorities and objectives of the UNDRR global initiative “Making Cities Resilient 2030”.
