A training seminar was held for employees of the UKS MES RK on the use of the web portal "GIS Platform for Emergency Situations"

In the period from June 26 to June 28, 2023, a training seminar was held in Turkestan for the heads of Crisis Situations Departments of territorial divisions and specialists of the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the use of the web portal "GIS Platform for Emergency Situations", developed by the Center jointly with LLP " Safety GIS” with financial and technical support from the OSCE Office in Astana.

This seminar is a continuation of a series of seminars, first held in February this year in Almaty in the building of the Center.

The specialists of Safety GIS LLP prepared a training course with presentation materials and video tutorials on using all the features and tools of the web portal, as well as conducted practical simulation tasks on actual types of emergencies.

During the seminar, issues of using satellite images and data on thermal points available in open sources on the relevant Internet resources were discussed.

As the Director of the Center Serik Aubakirov noted in his speech: “The unified Geographic Information System being created with the reflection of interactive maps of the regions and the application of information from the developed digital safety data sheets in the form of blocks (layers) will allow the subjects of emergency management to provide reliable information about potential sources of emergency situations and the causes of their occurrence, ensuring control over the state of natural sources of emergency situations, early forecasting of possible emergency situations and their management”.
