Master training on the use of unmanned aviation for Central Asian countries completed

 

From September 11 to 15, 2024, a master training on the use of unmanned aviation for the prevention and response to emergencies was held at the "Rock City – Astana" training ground of the Ministry for Emergency Situations (MES) of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty region.

The event was organized by the Center with the support of the International Civil Defense Organization and the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The trainers included leading UAV technology and GIS systems specialist T. Tamenov, as well as trainers from the Center – B. Ospanov and A. Ospanov. The master training was attended by 30 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators from the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Committee for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The training allowed specialists from four countries to exchange theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the use of UAVs.

During the official visit to the Center, the Director of the Regional Humanitarian Office of the ICDO for Central Asia and Asia, M. Azhikeev, also visited the training ground and became familiar with the master training program and approaches to preparing UAV operators of emergency agencies from Central Asian countries.

According to the master training program, in addition to the theoretical part, competitions were held among the participants in five disciplines: "search for victims in natural and man-made environments," "testing," "delivery of small cargo to a victim," "drone assembly," and "water search."

As a result of the competition, the team consisting of representatives from the Committee for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tajikistan (Kodirov A.) and the Department for Emergency Situations of the West Kazakhstan region (Mukhametkaliyev Zh.) took third place. The team of representatives from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Khusanmurzayev B.) and the Department for Emergency Situations of the Akmola region (Prichislov A.) took second place. The winners of the competition were the team of representatives from the Department for Emergency Situations of the Kyzylorda region (Sovet Zh.) and the Department for Emergency Situations of the North Kazakhstan region (Samatov A.).

The winners were awarded diplomas and trophies, and all participants received certificates from the International Civil Defense Organization, confirming successful completion of the training courses. Trainer Timur Tamenov was awarded an ICDO certificate as a "Professional Trainer for the Course on the Use of Unmanned Aviation for Emergency Response Tasks."

The master training provided participants with the opportunity to enhance their professional potential and improve skills in the use of UAVs for victim search, assessment of the operational situation at the emergency site, terrain study, as well as monitoring of mudflow, avalanche, landslide, and flood conditions.
