Meeting with students of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi

On November 20, 2023, according the invitation of the dean’s office of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, representatives of the Center, headed by Deputy Director of the Center Mr. Meimanbek Chekirbaev met with students of the faculty specializing in “Natural Risks”. The meeting was also attended by the head of the department for emergency prevention and operation of protective structures of the State Institution “Kazselezaschita” Mr. Baurzhan Abishev. and leading researcher of the technogenic seismic laboratory of the Institute of Seismology of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Yerken Salmenov.

During the meeting, students were presented with a video about the activities of the Center, as well as information about the cooperation of the Center with universities. A number of questions were received from students and teachers, to which the Center staff provided comprehensive answers.

The teaching staff thanked the Center for its cooperation and the opportunity for an internship at the Center, within the framework of the memorandum, for undergraduate and graduate students, and also expressed a request to involve students in projects implemented by the Center. Students expressed interest in involving them in the activities of the Center.
