New ties - new horizons: for the first time in Almaty an exhibition of Chinese emergency management and mining equipment was held
As part of the implementation of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, with the support of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the People's Republic of China and with the assistance of the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction (CESDRR), from 10 to 12 July 2025 in the exhibition complex “Atakent-Expo” (Almaty) in the framework of the 20th Anniversary China Goods Exhibition in Kazakhstan for the first time organized a Special Salon of emergency management and mining equipment.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan Han Chunlin noted: “Regardless of how the international situation changes, the permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan will only grow stronger”.
After the opening ceremony, official delegations and participants visited the pavilions where major Chinese manufacturers presented their products relevant to the needs of civil protection and industrial safety. Modern Chinese technologies and equipment in the field of natural threat monitoring, fire and rescue, emergency and mining equipment, aviation and unmanned systems, mobile command centers, mobile medical modules and personal protective equipment were demonstrated. Of particular interest were the products of U.Protec (Shenzhen) Tech Co. Ltd., which demonstrated protective overalls for firefighters, rescuers, military and industrial facilities, as well as Saifeite engineering technology group Co., LTD., which presented robot rescuers and firefighting unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) designed for reconnaissance and firefighting in hard-to-reach and dangerous areas.
In the afternoon, a thematic seminar with the participation of 13 Chinese companies, representatives of emergency agencies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as Kazakhstani organizations in the field of emergency prevention and response was held at the CESDRR. The participants got acquainted with Chinese solutions in the field of equipment supply, investment initiatives, localization of production and prospects for cooperation in the field of security and emergency response, discussed opportunities for cooperation and exchange of practical experience. The event also included thematic demonstrations and a visit of the Chinese delegation to the facilities of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Salon was an important step in the development of practical cooperation in the field of emergency management between China and the countries of Central Asia.
At the end of the event, the parties signed a Protocol of Intentions, confirming their readiness to make a practical contribution to the strengthening of the Mechanism of International Cooperation on Disaster Control and Emergency Management within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, as well as to the development of the Mechanism of Cooperation on Emergency Management “China-Central Asia”.
Thus, the foundations were laid for further deepening of interaction between relevant agencies, research organizations and manufacturers of equipment that contributes to increasing resilience to natural and man-made threats in the region.
The sides also agreed to support initiatives to organize international and regional events, including training courses, consultations, seminars and other forms of interaction involving experts from both sides.
In this regard, the Chinese side expressed its intention to invite representatives of Central Asian countries to the International Exhibition on Emergency Management to be held on November 18-20, 2025 in Beijing. It is expected that the event will be a logical continuation of the dialog and a platform to discuss practical steps in the field of civil protection and sustainable development.
Within the framework of the exhibition, the Chinese company CTPLA donated to the Center a modern acoustic warning system for emergency situations, as well as a loudspeaker for sound amplification. The transferred equipment is intended for use in field conditions, during evacuation activities, drills and emergency information of the population.
This gesture became a symbol of strengthening practical cooperation and confirmation of the readiness of the Chinese side to contribute to the improvement of technical equipment of civil protection institutions in the region.
