The Center Participated in an International Roundtable on Firefighter and Rescuer Training

On 4 September 2026, the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction participated online in the international roundtable discussion “Transforming the Training System for Firefighters and Rescuers in ICDO Member States: Introducing Innovations and Best Practices,” held as part of an international conference in Kazan.

The roundtable brought together representatives of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), emergency management authorities, specialized educational institutions, international organizations, and humanitarian centers.

The event addressed modern approaches to the training of firefighters and rescuers, the integration of innovative technologies into educational processes, international cooperation, standardization of professional training, and the practical application of modern digital solutions.

The Center was represented by Aibol Akparov, Head of the Emergency Situations Department, who delivered a presentation entitled “Activities of the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction.”

In his presentation, he outlined the Center’s key areas of work in developing the professional competencies of emergency management personnel from Central Asian countries, organizing regional training courses and seminars, and introducing modern technologies into professional training.

Particular attention was given to the Center’s experience in organizing regional master training sessions, training specialists in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), developing distance learning, and facilitating the exchange of practical experience among Central Asian countries.

The Center has conducted 212 seminars and training sessions with the participation of international experts, providing training to more than 7,337 representatives of government authorities from Central Asian countries.

The Center also presented its experience in implementing the Online School of Unmanned Aviation as a modern distance-learning tool for training specialists in the use of UAVs for civil protection purposes.

Following the event, participants emphasized the importance of further strengthening international cooperation in firefighter and rescuer training, sharing expertise, and introducing innovative educational technologies.

The Center’s online participation in the international roundtable marked another step toward strengthening professional cooperation with international and national organizations and promoting a regional approach to the training of specialists in emergency prevention and response.
