The Center participated in the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the MES of the Kyrgyz Republic

Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yuriy Ilin, First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus Andrey Yurzhits, Director of the Department of international cooperation MES of Russia Vladimir Soloviev, ICDO Secretary General Mariatou Yap, acting UN Resident coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic Adnan Qureshi, Head of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek Alexey Rogov and Director of the CESDRR Jergalbek Ukashev arrived in Bishkek by the invitation of the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Boobek Azhikeev.

As part of the celebration, the International scientific practical conference on the theme: "NATIONAL INITIATIVES IN DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION” was held dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Ministry of emergency situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, which took place on July 1, 2021 in Bishkek.

The conference discussed common topics on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, as well as the global themes of sustainable development of the country.

On 2 July 2021 representatives of the Center took part in the meeting of the Joint scientific technical council and the XXXIII session of CIS Interstate Council for natural and man-made emergencies.

During all meetings, the role and capacity of the Center were highly appreciated by the international organizations and the heads of emergency authorities-participants in the celebration.

Thus, the Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Y. Ilin emphasized his attitude to the activities of the Center for strengthening cooperation between ministries, solemnly awarding the director of the Center J. Ukashev and the head of the DRR department M. Chekirbaev medal “For contribution to the emergency prevention and response”.

During all meetings, the leadership and representatives of international organizations and emergency agencies - participants repeatedly noted the increasing role and capacity of the Center in strengthening cooperation in the field of security and disaster risk reduction in the CA region.

At the end of the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. B. Azhikeev noted the importance of strengthening international cooperation in disaster risk reduction and identification of priorities for further development and improving emergency response mechanisms.
