The Center strengthens cooperation with JICA

On 31 May 2023 the Project Formulation Advisor of the JICA Office in Kazakhstan Ms. Aya ITO visited the Center and met with the leadership of the Center. During the meeting Ms. ITO was briefly informed about the work done by the Center and prospects for the future.

Director of the Center, Mr. S. Aubakirov also reported on the measures taken to create the Central Asian Regional Early Warning System for disasters.

In addition, the Center submitted 2 Project Proposals for consideration by Ms. ITO, including those on the integration of earthquake monitoring systems of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

Following the meeting, the Parties agreed to strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction.
