The Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan received the Center's Leadership in Bishkek
The meeting, held on May 11th 2024, was initiated by the Center for coordinating joint efforts to prepare for the annual meeting of the Regional Forum - Meeting of the Heads of Emergency Authorities of Central Asian countries, which will take place on August 15-16, 2024 in the Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Director of the Center expressed gratitude to the Minister for the full support provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Center in strengthening regional cooperation in disaster risk reduction.
By hosting the next Forum in the Republic, Kyrgyzstan emphasizes its commitment to the UN Charter and demonstrates its willingness to implement the Strategy for the development of cooperation between Central Asian countries in disaster risk reduction for 2022-2030 adopted in 2021.
In turn, Major General Boobek Azhikeev noted the effectiveness and importance of the Center's further activities as a resource intergovernmental body for implementing the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in disaster risk reduction for 2015-2030.
The parties discussed the nearest prospects and necessary joint activities to strengthen the Center's potential.
