Training on Sendai Framework monitoring

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction jointly with the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction with the frame of the project “Strengthening regional cooperation and facilitation on implementation of Sendai Framework for disaster risk reduction in Central Asia” on 15 September 2020 conducted trainings on monitoring of Sendai Framework for DRR 2015-2030 for representatives of State Authorities of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan via videoconference.
The main goals of trainings on Sendai Framework monitoring were:
  • Strengthening sustainability of Central Asian countries for disaster risks through national and regional capacity building in the field of DRR, prevention and response on emergencies.
  • Foster the achievement of Global targets, identified by Sendai Framework for DRR 2015-2030.
The first session was devoted to the theoretical review of Sendai Framework for DRR, its targets, as well as review of other key agreements.
During the second session the practical steps on filling of indicators of the National Report on Sendai Framework were demonstrated.
From the Republic of Uzbekistan: the representatives of the Ministry for Emergency Situations and the State Committee on statistics participated.
From the Republic of Kazakhstan: the representatives of the Ministry for Emergency Situations.
The Center as a Regional Recourse Center of the Regional Platform for DRR on Sendai Framework monitoring in Central Asian and Caucasus region organizes and conducts trainings on Sendai Framework monitoring for representatives of CA countries on regular basis.
