Training was conducted for employees of the Department of Emergency Situations in Astana on the use of UAVs for emergency tasks
In the period from November 2 to November 4, 2022 in Astana, on the basis of a request from the Department of Emergency Situations of Astana, the specialists of the Center conducted a training for employees of the Department of Emergency Situations of Astana, the State Institution "Fire Fighting and Rescue Operations Service" and the Training Center of Astana Astana of the Academy of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the skills of using UAVs for the implementation of tasks for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations.
The training program included theoretical and practical parts, as well as exercises on post-flight processing of data obtained using UAVs using special software that allows processing the results of aerial photography from a drone.
In the course of practical training, a study tour was carried out to the territory of the Astana counter-regulator, where the specialists of the Center demonstrated how to build a 3D model of the facility, making for example a three-dimensional model of the head gateway of the counter-regulator. In addition, as part of the practical exercises, a simulation of a search for people in a forest area near the settlement of Malaya Timofeevka was performed using an optical camera and a thermal imaging sensor. Using various color modes of the thermal imager and the capabilities of the optical camera, the participants were able to independently determine the location of the missing in the shortest possible time, thereby making sure that the use of UAVs with specialized sensors was effective when searching for people in hard-to-reach places.
Based on the results of the training, 23 employees of the Department of Emergency Situations of Astana and the Training Center of the city of Astana AGZ of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan were awarded certificates of completion of the above course.
