Visit of the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Kazakhstan
On April 23, 2022, the official meeting of the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Kazakhstan Michaela Friberg-Storey with the head of the Center was held at the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction.
The UN delegation also included Abdurahim Muhidov -UNDRR Regional Coordinator for Central Asia, Dina Khassenova -Development Coordination Officer, Partnerships and Development Finance, UN RC Office, Ms. Simone Faerdow- Associate Development Coordination Officer, UN RC Office.
During the meeting, the participants learned of the mission, strategy and priorities of the Center, information on the implementation of joint projects with partners in DRR, climate change adaptation and emergency situations in Central Asian countries.
UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Kazakhstan Michaela Friberg-Storey appreciated the progress of the Center's activities in disaster risk reduction and the Center's comprehensive approach to various disaster risks. As a result of the meeting, joint actions were identified for further cooperation at the regional level through the Center's platform.
